Winter naturally presents some challenges for solar generation. Shorter daylight hours, a lower sun angle and heavier cloud cover can all reduce the amount of solar energy available throughout the day.
But cloudy doesn’t mean powering off.
Solar panels generate electricity from available light, not only direct sunshine. Even under overcast conditions, diffused daylight can still reach the panels and continue contributing energy to the van’s 48V battery system.
